What you are joining

Hamlet Community Development and Enlightenment Association is a community membership organisation that supports political and election campaigns. Applying for membership may reveal your political affiliation. Applications are reviewed by an authorised administrator before an active membership card is issued.

The information you provide

Registration collects your name, phone number, and local area. A photograph, email address, and volunteer interest are optional. Ward and polling-unit details may be confirmed later. We also record your application status, review history, messaging preference, and membership-card reference. Your password is stored as a one-way hash, separately from your member record. Application references are identifiers and cannot be used to sign in.

Phone verification and account security

We send your phone number to our verification provider to deliver a security code for registration, password recovery or a phone-number change. These security messages are separate from optional announcements. Verification codes are not included in your member record or registry exports.

Limited security records help prevent repeated sign-in attempts and unwanted messages. Password resets and phone changes sign out existing sessions. Never share your password or verification codes with a coordinator.

How your information is used

Your details are used to identify your account, review and manage your membership, issue a membership card, and deliver announcements through your account. Your selected area helps route your application to the appropriate coordinator. It does not change your official voter registration.

Who can see it

Your profile is available to you and authorised administrators. Area coordinators have access limited to their assigned area. Public card verification returns the card’s current validity without showing the member’s personal details. Do not share a screenshot of your card publicly if you do not want the information printed on it to be visible.

Announcements and your choices

Your member account includes an announcement inbox. SMS announcements, including campaign updates, have a separate optional preference. You can turn this off in your member profile at any time. Turning off SMS does not cancel your membership.

SMS announcements are not yet connected, so announcements currently reach your account inbox only.

Corrections, access, and removal

You can review and download your information in My profile. Ask your coordinator to open your application for corrections if personal details need to change. In Security & privacy, you can verify a new phone number, reset your password, or withdraw membership and delete your account.

Deletion removes your profile, photo, inbox, consent records and access from the active registry and invalidates your membership card. You must confirm your password and type DELETE. If you cannot access your account, email musashehu2545@gmil.com for an identity check and help with access, correction or removal. Do not email passwords or verification codes.

How long information is kept

We keep your member information while your membership continues. When you withdraw using account deletion, your information is removed from the active registry immediately.

Recovery backups may retain earlier copies for up to 60 days after withdrawal. They are restricted to recovery, and deletion requests must be reapplied before restored records are used. The organisation must apply this period to its database backup settings and any retained exports.
